Latest Shirt

Another shirt is done and ready for crystals. I am not sure if I want to add some Free Standing leaves onto it or not. Or will I pack it and leave it until we move south.

This shirt boasts a batik yoke that has blues and greens in it. The fringe and buttons pick up the blues in the yoke. The body is a brown cotton as is the piping.

This shirt goes into our inventory and will be sold at a later date.

Done!!

The last of the custom shirts are done and ready for their owner to pick them up. They have been fun to make because:
There was rainbow colours
There was neat patterns
I got to make custom piping

Now I will (hopefully) get to make shirts for inventory. The last time I said that, I got to make these five shirts.

Grape Coloured Shirt

The last of this order is done and I am happy with every shirt I made. This shirt is shades of grape. The print cabbage roses and ribbons done in ligher shades of grape making it attractive and elegant. The piping is custom made using lilac coloured Fairy Frost fabric. It is the focal point of the shirt and adds that extra pizzaz that it needed.

This picture is a bit on the light side - the fabric is darker than shown.

This is an outhouse on our neighbour's property. It is made completely of salvaged material and is pretty neat. We had a good chuckle but it is a necessity on the farm when you have no other plumbing.

Lime Sorbet

Lime Sorbet is ready for buttons. This shirt was done in typical fashion and went together very well. This shirt is very bright and cheerful and is one of three that are made from the same company.

This is the beautiful rainbow we got to see after we had a really good thunderstorm last night. The inner rainbow was so bright it was amazing. We could see both ends and where they touched the ground.

The Latest Edition

This shirt is the latest one of the group of shirts I am working on. The pattern is so beautiful that I knew a yoke on this shirt would require some thought. I bought a glorious piece of Bali Batik to make custom piping out of. But Tara didn't want any piping on this shirt. Out went the yokes as they broke up the flow of the flowers on the front and back. This became a very simple shirt that was fast and easy to make. The background is a very dark brown, so dark it is almost black. I could not find buttons to match the shirt and black buttons stood out. So I went for pink ones and they are perfect.

When making this shirt, I did nothing out of the normal for a shirt for Tara. Start to finish it is just like making a normal lady's shirt. It has the usual two piece collar which went together perfectly.

I bought enough fabric to make another shirt as a gift for our daughter. And then I have another creation to make with the left over fabric. I can already see where the crystals will go on my creation.

Strawberry Sorbet

Strawberry Sorbet is ready for buttons. This shirt is done in typical fashion and is very easy to do. I begin by doing the yokes and the front bands, add the collar stay and collar, and finally do the sleeves. On a good day, it will take me about 6 hours to make but I cannot do anything else during the day but sew.

I do like the colour of this shirt as it is bright and cheerful.
